Allah swt grant us the love for all those people who serve the deen and grant us the same fervor and aspirations they have.

Moulana Ismail (ra), the father of Moulana Ilyas (founder of the work of dawat and tabligh commonly found in masajid all over the world today) was a highly esteemed scholar and imam. When cement workers, general laborers and travelers would be passing by he would help them lift their weight, give them water to drink from cold water he would carry with him and then after doing this service he would offer two rakaah of thanksgiving to Allah swt saying, "O Allah thank You for allowing me to serve the creation like this." This is what Moulana Ilyas (ra) grew up seeing and had such a person to look after his upbringing. His brother Moulana Yahya convinced his father to allow him to go to Gangoh and finish his studies there. Moulana Ilyas (ra) stayed in the Khanqah of Gangoh for 10 years under the watchful guidance of the great luminary Moulana Rashid Ahmed Gangohi (ra). Many times when buzrughs would visit the khanqah his brother Moulana Yahya (ra) would stop his lessons and tell Moulana Ilyas (ra) to go sit with the pious men who have come to the khanqah and that his lesson that day would be to benefit from their company. In this way he passed 10 years in the Khanqah of Gangoh. Later in his life Moulana Ilyas (ra) said that there are two instances in his life when he had a great shock; (1) at the death of his father and (2) at the death of Moulana Rashid Ahmed Gangohi (ra)
