"My name is Amy, 27 yrs old, I reverted to Islam on 7/1/2014. It trully saddens me that my family thinks this is some form of rebellion or bad influence. Islam is something I longed for and in my heart felt such great emotion when I converted. My family has been harsh and don't approve of me wearing a hijab, though I embrace it everyday. I have went out in public and have gotten stared in such ugly manners, those people are surely lost. Surely these are tests from Allah, and He (swt) will give the strength.
